Ordsall Hall

We recently visited Ordsall Hall in Salford because Cathy is currently doing the Tudors at school. Orsdall Hall is a fine example of timber structured Tudor Manor house, and I am very surprised that I have never been there before, in spite of living in Salford all my life, says Martyn.

We will be putting some video and pictures here when Martyn gets round to publishing them, so for now you'll have to make do with this one. There is a copy of Cathy's Ordsall Hall leaflet which she did for school here.

We can recommend a visit to everyone if you like history, old buildings, castles etc and entrance is free as well as parking.

Hello and Wecome One and All

Our previous attempt at a website has become so out of date (as so many do) that I have decided to start a blog (weblog) as a temporary and maybe permanent replacement. The original website is still available here, but it is incomplete and unlikely to be updated in the near future.

Blogs are much easier to keep up to date, and although they don't have the same initial structure, they can still serve our main purpose, namely providing information about our family on the internet.

So that with that in mind, I launch this new version of 'Keeping Up With The Joneses'. To all our friends and family, we hope you find it interesting and even useful.
